Dialogue processing, interactive or online document creation

Meaning

Dialogue processing or interactive document creation is the complementary method to batch processing and background processing. It is defined by the active user who creates all or part of the document in the system editor. In the context of document creation, output management, and customer communication, the aim is to provide the user with as much user-friendliness and security as possible in dialogue processing in order to support an efficient working method with which the user can achieve a high-quality result.

Usability

A modern editor such as M/TEXT follows the conventions of common text systems such as MS Word or LibreOffice in its interface and operation and can be integrated into the interface of the specialist system, for example. Thus, the transition from the business application to the editor of the text system is hardly noticeable and the user continues to work in the familiar style without changing the application. Furthermore, document creation with the M/TEXT Editor offers the transfer of application data from the business application to produce ready-made documents that the user only needs to complete.

M/TEXT Dialogue Processing supports efficient working with ‘tailor-made’ interfaces that offer the user exactly the functions he needs in the respective work situation – no more and no less.

This means for example,

  • the user only has the respective permitted and layout styles and fonts to choose from,
  • it is guided safely through multi-stage work processes, because exactly those dialogs are called up that result dynamically from the respective work situation,
  • he immediately recognizes in the document where he is allowed to make text changes or insert blocks etc.
  • He can access external programs and data sources and display the results in the editor
  • he does not have to worry about further processing and output of documents, this is done by a seamlessly connected Ouput Management System like M/OMS.

Of course, in modern dialog processing today, WYSIWYG interface as well as hyphenation and spellchecking in several languages are a matter of course. All this ensures that employees can quickly familiarise themselves with the system without a great deal of introduction and training.

In addition, the script language of the M/ Logic series can be integrated into the document processes so that the system can start data-driven actions. Whether it is the targeted forwarding of a document within the framework of the dual control principle or the exchange with an external system for ECM, BPM, MPS, etc., the system can be used for a variety of purposes. Corresponding interfaces ensure the integration of Serie M/ into the existing IT landscape.
